Celestia is a powerfull and free real-time space simulation that lets you experience our universe in three dimensions. A little bit of hack later and the Fading Suns sci-fi version is here. Download, unpack and Fasten your seatbelt ! Celestia-Fading Suns Edition.zip (43 Mo.) News 14 Nov 08 : almost 4 years after the last update... The zip file went offline since August and the website hosting the details of every planet of the known world no longer exists, my apologies. If you ever find such a website, please mail me. During that time, Celestia leveled up up to version 1.5.1. I've been digging deep inside the source code, and I'm still looking forward to make a new mod someday. 7 Jan 05 : update Celestia is now v1.3.2 : the most interesting update is that it's now possible to select an object by hitting Enter and typing the name (pressing Tab for completion). The planets are now linked to a website giving detailed geographical, political, economical and much more informations (right-click a planet and choose info in the menu). If you downloaded the previous version, unpack this patch.zip into your celestia installation. Screenshots
